信息图形 Infographic

信息图形（Information graphics或Infographics），是指数据、信息或知识的可视化表现形式。信息图形主要应用于必须要有一个清楚准确的解释或表达甚为复杂且大量的信息，例如在各式各样的文档文件上、各个地图及标志、新闻或教程文档，表现出的设计是化繁为简。公元1958年，Stephen Toulmin提出了一种图形化的理论模型，后来成为有影响力的理论及其应用。

Information graphics or infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly. They can improve cognition by utilizing graphics to enhance the human visual system’s ability to see patterns and trends. Similar pursuits are information visualization, data visualization, statistical graphics, information design, or information architecture. Infographics have evolved in recent years to be for mass communication, and thus are designed with fewer assumptions about the readers knowledge base than other types of visualizations. Isotypes are an early example of infographics conveying information quickly and easily to the masses.
