Gopiganj is a city and a municipal board in Sant Ravidas Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is almost at an equal distance from Allahabad and Varanasi, on national highway no 2 beside the river Ganges. Gopiganj may have derived its name from term Goppur. It is a major business centre for nearby villages and is well connected with railway and roadways.
