根特大学（荷兰语：Universiteit Gent；荷兰语缩写：UGent；英语：Ghent University或University of Ghent；法语：Universiteit Gand），比利时著名大学，在荷兰语区最大城市根特。建于1817年，是比利时最早专门用荷兰语教学的大学。前身为国立根特大学（荷兰语：Rijksuniversiteit Gent，缩写：RUG），1991年简化作现名。与荷兰语天主教鲁汶大学同为比利时顶尖大学。该校拥有11所学院、120多个系，在校生约为41000人，其中4150名为来自世界各地的外国留学生，教职工约9000人。根特大学在生物技术、医学、水产学等基础及应用研究领域具有较强科研实力和竞争力，且在Zwijnaarde和Ostend有两处科技园。与中国的合作是根特大学国际合作事务的重要部分，为了吸引更多的中国留学生，根特大学提供了多种奖学金和众多优惠措施。

Established in 1817 by King William I of the Netherlands, Ghent University (Dutch:Universiteit Gent, abbreviated as UGent) is a public research university located in Ghent, Belgium. After the Belgian revolution of 1830, the newly-formed Belgian state began to administer the university. In 1930, it became the first Dutch-speaking university in Belgium—French having been the academic language up to that point. In 1991, the university was granted major autonomy and changed its name from State University of Ghent (Dutch:Rijksuniversiteit Gent, abbreviated as RUG) to its current designation. It is one of the larger Flemish universities, consisting of 41,000 students and 9,000 staff members. The current rector is Anne De Paepe.
