Gemütlichkeit (German pronunciation:[ɡəˈmyːtlɪçkaɪt]) describes a space or state of warmth, friendliness, and good cheer. Other qualities include coziness, peace of mind, belonging, well being, and social acceptance. The term is most commonly associated with the tenor of a German beer garden.
