印度野牛，别名白肢野牛、野黄牛、白袜子、亚洲野牛等，分布于南亚和东南亚。印度野牛是现存世界上体型最大的牛,成年雄性野牛最重可达1500公斤,驯养的野牛叫大额牛。

The gaur (/ˈɡaʊər/, Bos gaurus), also called Indian bison, is the largest extant bovine, native to South Asia and Southeast Asia. The species has been listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List since 1986, as the population decline in parts of the species' range is likely to be well over 70% during the last three generations. Population trends are stable in well-protected areas, and are rebuilding in a few areas which had been neglected.
