福乐球，英文“Floorball”，其中文名字来源于音译。在中国，上海和北京的地板球水平较高。由上海外国语大学等19所高校组成的中国旱地冰球发展中心、北京的北京大学和北京大学附属中学等学校实力位于中国高校前列。在上海，一般将“Floorball”称之为“旱地冰球”；在北京一般称之为“地板球”。

福乐球于20世纪70年代中期起源于瑞典。但也可以说这项新的比赛是起源于全世界，因为从19世纪开始人们就从事类似的运动，比如说，在北美和英国的福乐球是从冰球演变而来的，而在澳大利亚，则是从曲棍球演变成室内冰球，虽然福乐球来自于很多不同的体育运动，但有二个重要的阶段使得福乐球成为有组织性的现代运动。一是瑞典人1981年11月7日在瑞典的sala设立了最早的国家福乐球联合会。二是1983年9月福乐球官方规则的第一次出版。

Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five field players and a goalkeeper on each team. Men and women play indoors with 96-115.5 cm long sticks and a plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods.

Developed in the 1960s and 1970s in Sweden, floorball is most popular where it has been developed the longest, such as the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. It is gaining popularity in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States. As of 2014, there are over 300,133 registered floorball players worldwide. Professional leagues include Finland's Salibandyliiga and Sweden's Svenska Superligan.
