Exponential function

In mathematics, an exponential function is a function of the form

in which the input variable x occurs as an exponent. A function of the form f(x) = b is also considered an exponential function, and a function of the form f(x) = a·b can be re-written as f(x) = b by the use of logarithms and so is an exponential function.
