Estévez, or Estevez in America, is a Galician family name. It is a patronymic, meaning son of Stephen, in Galician Estevo. In Portuguese the equivalent is Esteves, the Italian equivalent is DeStefano and the Spanish equivalent is Estébanez, from the Spanish name Esteban.
