末世论或末日论（Eschatology）是研究历史终结及其相关方面的哲学或者神学理论，神学上的末世论一般关心人类社会的终结以及如何终结等问题，而哲学上的末世论则可能着眼于人类社会的终结问题，也可能着眼于自然的终结。在末世论的基础上产生的学科有末世论的历史哲学、自然哲学，本体论、认识论等。

Eschatology /ˌɛskəˈtɒlədʒi/ is a part of theology concerned with the final events of history, or the ultimate destiny of humanity. This concept is commonly referred to as the "end of the world" or "end time".
The word arises from the Greek ἔσχατος eschatos meaning "last" and -logy meaning "the study of", first used in English around 1550. The Oxford English Dictionary defines eschatology as "The department of theological science concerned with ‘the four last things: death, judgment, heaven and hell’."
