约瑟夫·凯里·梅里克（英语：Joseph Carey Merrick，1862年8月5日－1890年4月11日），常被误作约翰·梅里克（John Merrick），是一位被称作“象人”（Elephant Man）的身体严重畸形的英国人。在其入住皇家伦敦医院以后便在伦敦社会家喻户晓。梅里克出生在莱斯特，在生命里的头几年身体便出现生长异常。他的皮肤显得又厚又松弛，嘴唇增厚，额头有骨性肿块。他的一只手臂及两腿异常增大，在童年时的一次摔跤中损伤了臀部，导致终身残废。当时他11岁，母亲去世，父亲另娶。梅里克12岁辍学，在求职中遇到很大困难。受到父亲及后母的遗弃，他离家出走。到了1879年，17岁的梅里克进了莱斯特的济贫院。

Joseph Carey Merrick (5 August 1862 – 11 April 1890), sometimes named incorrectly as John Merrick, was an English man with severe deformities who was exhibited as a human curiosity named the Elephant Man. He became well known in London society after he went to live at the London Hospital. Merrick was born in Leicester, and began to develop abnormally during the first few years of his life. His skin appeared thick and lumpy, he developed enlarged lips, and a bony lump grew on his forehead. One of his arms and both of his feet became enlarged and at some point during his childhood he fell and damaged his hip, resulting in permanent lameness. When he was 11, his mother died from stomach cancer, and his father soon remarried. Merrick left school at the age of 13 and had difficulty finding employment. Rejected by his father and stepmother, he left home. In late 1879, Merrick, aged 17, entered the Leicester Union Workhouse.
