近地轨道 Low Earth orbit

近地轨道（Low Earth orbit），又称低地轨道，是指航天器距离地面高度较低的轨道。近地轨道没有公认的严格定义。一般高度在2000公里以下的近圆形轨道都可以称之为近地轨道。由于近地轨道卫星离地面较近，绝大多数对地观测卫星、测地卫星、空间站以及一些新的通信卫星系统都采用近地轨道。

Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) is the region of space around the Earth below an altitude of 2,000 kilometres (1,243 mi). This is where the ISS conducts operations. One complete orbit in LEO takes about 90 minutes.
With the exception of the manned lunar flights of the Apollo program, all human spaceflights have taken place in LEO (or were suborbital). The altitude record for a human spaceflight in LEO was Gemini 11 with an apogee of 1,374.1 kilometers (853.8 mi). All manned space stations to date, as well as the majority of satellites, have been in LEO.
