The Denver Rock Island Railroad (reporting markDRIR), formerly known as the Denver Terminal Railroad, is a Class III terminal railroad in Commerce City, Colorado. The DRIR works around Denver's stock yards and many industries in that area. The DRIR has two SW1500 locomotives, two NW2 locomotives, one SW1 locomotive and one EMD GP16 locomotive. The railroad is currently painting their engines into a uniform look in silver and blue; number 417 was the first completed engine. SW1500s 1083 and 1211 are now in the new blue/silver paint scheme as well.
